Abusive Experience

An abusive experience is designed to mislead website visitors. For example, auto-redirects that take visitors to a new page without any action on their part is an abusive experiences. So, the ads are designed to mislead or trick users into interacting with them. Abusive Experience will make Chrome browser (after version 65) prevent a site from opening new windows or tabs.

Amazon Associates

Amazon Associates is one of the first online affiliate marketing programs and was launched in 1996. The Amazon Associates program has a more than 12-year track record of developing solutions to help website owners, Web developers, and Amazon sellers make money by advertising millions of new and used products from Amazon.com and its subsidiaries, such as Endless.com and SmallParts.com. When website owners and bloggers who are Associates create links and customers click through those links and buy products from Amazon, they earn referral fees. It’s free to join and easy to use.

Bandwidth

Bandwidth is the capacity of a wired or wireless network communications link to transmit the maximum amount of data from one point to another over a computer network or internet connection in a given amount of time is not an ideal way to do things. It specifically relates to the capacity of a network’s communications link to carry data from one node to another, and not the speed of that data transfer.

Comments

Comments are a feature of blogs that allow readers to respond to Posts. Typically, readers simply provide their own thoughts regarding the content of the post, but they can also provide links to other resources, generate discussions, or simply compliment the author for a well-written post. Comments allow you to interact more with your site visitors as well as generate feedback and discussions on your Posts.

The software/application provides a graphical interface to users from which they can control their portion of the UNIX server. The tools provided are designed to simplify running and controlling a website. It uses a tiered structure that allows different levels of access. Administrators and end users can control the different aspects of the server and the website directly through their browser

Database

A database is a systematic collection of data. Databases support the storage and manipulation of data. Databases make data management easy. In other words, a database is used by an organization as a method of storing, managing, and retrieving information.

Domain

A domain, in the context of networking, refers to any group of users, workstations, devices, printers, computers, and database servers that share different types of data via network resources. In a simple network domain, many computers and/or workgroups are directly connected. A domain is comprised of combined systems, servers, and workgroups. The domains are of many types like .com, and .org. net, .pk, etc

Export

The Export option is used to export your data in XML format, from your WordPress site. The export format is called WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR and will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, terms, navigation menus and custom posts.

Feature Image

A Featured Image, often called a Post/Page Thumbnail, is usually some sort of image that is representative for that particular Page or Post. How these images are displayed is dependent entirely on the Theme that is currently in use.

FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

Basically, it’s a way to transfer files online. File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a client/server protocol used for transferring files to or exchanging files with a host computer. It may be authenticated with user names and passwords.FTP is built on a client-server model architecture using separate control and data connections between the client and the server.

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

It is a legal framework or a system that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the European Union (EU). It aims to simplify the regulatory environment for businesses so both citizens and businesses in the European Union can fully benefit from the digital economy.

Hosting

Web hosting is a service that allows organizations and individuals to post a website or web page on to the Internet. A web host, or web hosting service provider, is a business that provides the technologies and services needed for the website or webpage to be viewed on the Internet.

Import

The Import option provides you with various tools for importing content from other blogging systems. You can import content from Blogger, LiveJournal, Moveable Type, TypePad and Tumblr. You can also import content from Blogrolls that use the OPML Format, posts from an RSS feed or content from other WordPress sites. To import content from another WordPress site you first need to install the WordPress Importer plugin.

Monetization

he process of changing something into money or legalize as money. It is also refers to establishing something (Like gold or silver or any other thing) as legal tender of a country. It is a process of making or converting something into a source of business.

Pages

Pages are used for more static content (i.e. content that doesn’t change or changes infrequently). Among the information displayed is the Page title, the Author, No. of Comments, and either the Date Published or the Date the Page was Last Modified.

Permalinks

The Permalink settings enable you to configure the URL format that is displayed in the web browser when someone browses your site. By default, WordPress permalinks use the Day and name option however, you can change this so that the URL is more user friendly. This also helps considerably with Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

It’s a series of spoken, audio episodes, often focused on a particular topic or theme, like cycling or startups

Posts

Posts are typically blog entries. A series of articles, listed (usually) reverse-chronologically, among the information displayed is the Post title, the author, Categories, Tags, No of Comments and either the Date Published, Date Scheduled or a Date the Post was Last Modified.

RSS Feed

RSS is short for Really Simple Syndication and it’s a way to have information delivered to you Instead of you having to go find it. If you’re visiting websites and blogs to see if there is anything new to read, you’re probably wasting a lot of time and not always finding anything new. RSS allows you to subscribe to a blog or website and have any new published information sent to you so you don’t have to go looking for it

Slug

Slug – The Slug is the URL-friendly version of the name. It’s usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens.

SSL Certificate

An SSL Certificate (Secure Sockets Layer), also called a Digital Certificate, creates a secure link between a website and a visitor’s browser. It is a protocol when a computer connects to a website, communication begins between the computer’s web browser and the web server where the site is hosted on. Typically, this communication is unguarded, meaning it’s out in the open and any interested third party can have a look at it.

Tags

Tags are ad-hoc keywords that identify important information in your post (names, subjects, etc) that may or may not occur in other posts. Unlike Categories, Tags have no hierarchy, meaning there’s no relationship from one Tag to another.

Uptime

Website uptime is the time that a website or web service is available to the users over a given period. Represented as a ratio of the time available divided by the total time, providers calculate the ratio in monthly or yearly increments.

Widgets

Widgets are independent sections of content that can be placed into any widgetized area provided by your theme. Although these widgetized areas are commonly called ‘Sidebars’ and are quite often located in the left or right-hand column, they can be also located anywhere within your site and are entirely dependent on the current theme as to their location. Lots of themes use these widgetized sidebars in the footer

The WordPress Toolbar is a way of easily accessing some of the most common WordPress features. When you are logged into your WordPress dashboard and you visit your website, you will see the Toolbar running across the top of your site.
